Storm Clouds

View from the Balcony

Just wanted to share a few old piccies with everyone on this dreary and wet saturday morning. This was taken about a year ago, at my mum's and her partner's place here in Hamilton. We were just lazing around in the lounge that afternoon, and were talking about the weather when one of us just happened to look out the window and saw the amazing cloud formation in the horizon. Naturally, I ran down to my room and grabbed my camera and started shooting away. The piccie above is my favourite image.

Run for Cover

I like the 2nd one because it kind of gives a sense of abandonment (I think it has something to do with the chairs being in disarray). It's as if the people just ran off when they saw the threatening skies.

It's already 21st February 2009 here in the land down under the land down under! Can't help it if we're always a few hours ahead of everyone else.

Have a happy weekend!

Oh, these are wonderful, especially the second one. I get a very different impression from the chairs, as a place to watch the storm come in. Welcome to the Robins!

That's a lovely shot, sis. Love the colours!

If you google it up, you?ll find out that Kirimati or Christmas Island in the Pacific Ocean is the first on earth to celebrate the new year. But technically, it is exactly the same time here; blame it on the 1 hour DST (daylight saving time). Anyway, Auckland still is the 1st major city in the world to celebrate the new year.
